Arriving in Taipei and Ningxia Night Market

The first day of our Taipei Adult Expo trip, flying from Hong Kong to Taoyuan Airport, taking the Airport MRT to Taipei Main Station, and visiting Ningxia Night Market with friends.

Departing from Hong Kong Airport

HK Express has now moved to Terminal 2 at Hong Kong Airport. Terminal 2 was bigger than I expected, although being big seemed to be about all it had going for it.

I was a little unlucky that day. The wind and rain were really heavy, and after we boarded, the flight was delayed for about an hour. It was already 5 p.m. when we arrived at Taoyuan Airport. Boarding at Hong Kong Airport Boarding at Hong Kong Airport

My friends in Taiwan kept asking me for updates, haha.

Arriving at Taoyuan Airport

The immigration officers at Taoyuan Airport worked quickly, though, and it took about half an hour to get through and enter the airport.

The officers kept reminding travellers to open their Taiwan entry permits to speed up the immigration process.

So before joining the immigration queue, it is best to open your Taiwan entry permit or other relevant entry document first. It can help you get through faster.

Once I finally got through, the first thing I did was have a cigarette. The smoking area was outside in Zone 23. Zone 23 at Taoyuan International Airport Smoking Area at Taoyuan International Airport

Taoyuan Airport MRT

To take the Airport MRT, keep walking through the airport until you see the MRT signs, then follow them.

There are two types of train into the city: commuter trains and express trains. Taoyuan Airport MRT Trains

If you are going directly to Taipei Main Station, remember to distinguish between the commuter and express trains.

The express train takes around 30 to 45 minutes.

Arriving in Taipei

As soon as I got off the train, I found that both of my friends had happened to wait for me in the same place.

That saved us all from having to search for one another.

After that, I went to stay at a hotel near Taipei Main Station.

I share more about the hotel here: York Design Hotel

Dinner and Ningxia Night Market

After I dropped off my luggage, my friends took me to this Taiwanese stir-fry restaurant. Taipei Stir-Fry Restaurant

After eating, we crossed the road and arrived at Ningxia Night Market. Ningxia Night Market

Ningxia Night Market is not very large. It takes up roughly half a street. Ningxia Night Market

My friends who live in Taiwan recommended this place, but unfortunately, I had just eaten and was already full. Recommended Stall at Ningxia Night Market

After that, I returned to the hotel to rest.
