Leaving Rovaniemi for Tromsø by Bus

Taking the long-distance bus from Rovaniemi to Tromsø, with morning souvenirs, snowy road views, a border-area bus transfer, hotel arrival, dinner and a night walk in Tromsø.

Our Last Morning in Rovaniemi

By the time we woke up, it was already 8 o’clock.

Here is what the sky looked like at 8am. Scandic Rovaniemi City Scandic Rovaniemi City

After that, we went for breakfast at the hotel. Scandic Rovaniemi City Breakfast Scandic Rovaniemi City Breakfast Scandic Rovaniemi City Breakfast Scandic Rovaniemi City Breakfast Scandic Rovaniemi City Breakfast Scandic Rovaniemi City Breakfast

A foreign guest kept recommending one particular drink and kept saying it would warm you up.

After trying it, it turned out to be ginger juice, haha.

Buying Souvenirs Before Leaving

After breakfast, since we still had some time, we went to the mall opposite the hotel. RINNE

Their K-Supermarket was really huge. K-Supermarket

Perfect for buying souvenirs.

While wandering around, I saw a kid wanting to buy one particular chocolate.

Unfortunately, his mother took it back from him.

Well then, since a local had approved it,

I would take it on your behalf.

After that, I went to ask a staff member

which beer locals liked to drink.

He recommended one to me.

After paying, I suddenly remembered that I wanted to try local cigarettes.

I asked a young staff member,

and he recommended a vanilla-flavoured one. Cigarette Cigarette Cigarette

After that, we chatted for a while.

I did not expect him to know about a political movement in Hong Kong from a few years ago.

Taking the Bus to Tromsø

After that, we walked over to take the bus to Tromsø.

Journey time: 11:20am - 07:30pm

We booked our tickets on this website.

We walked from the hotel to the bus stop.

When we arrived, the bus was already parked there.

After the driver helped put our luggage on board, we were free to choose our seats.

There was a toilet on the bus.

But expect it to be very small.

It seemed like the bus was pet-friendly too.

There was a very well-behaved Chihuahua on board. Chiwawa

Whenever its owner went to the toilet, it would sit still and stare towards the toilet. Chiwawa

At around 3pm, the bus stopped at a petrol station so we could take a short break. Gas Station Gas Station

After about 15 minutes, we got back on the bus.

the bus reached another petrol station and suddenly asked everyone to get off. Gas Station

Dinner

After getting back to the hotel and dropping off our things, we went straight out for dinner. Thon Hotel Polar Bed

I regretted not buying food at the petrol station.

After searching around a few places, we came to this one.

I thought the flavour was on the heavier side.

Afterword

After my friend tried that beer, they thought it was really good.

It had a lot of layers to it.

The vanilla-flavoured cigarette actually did not have much taste when smoking it.

But when you wet your lips with your tongue,

you could taste a hint of vanilla.

Remember to wear ice grips in winter. Otherwise, when you come across icy roads, you will keep slipping.
