Lake Kinrin in the Morning
We reached Lake Kinrin at around 7:00 a.m. to see the mist drifting over the water.
We arrived a little late, and it was already May, so there was only a small amount of mist. I was still very happy that we saw some.
On the way back to the hotel, we stopped at a public toilet and found a family of swallows nesting above it.

The flowers were beautiful.

Hotel Breakfast
We returned to the hotel for breakfast before setting off.

Leaving Yufuin
We had packed early, so we asked the hotel staff whether we could take an earlier shuttle to the station.
Luckily, seats were still available and they arranged for us to leave ahead of schedule.
After getting off the shuttle, we went to the bus station for the number 36 Kamenoi Bus.

Bus routes and timetables: https://kamenoibus.com/scheduled_tt/
The bus station is only a few steps from Yufuin Station.
You can see the railway station clearly from here.

Walk straight along this road.

The bus station appears just after the shop with the 一休 sign.

Inside, you will find timetables for every route.
You can also ask the staff which bus to take and when it departs. They can even help exchange notes for coins.
There are seats and a toilet for passengers waiting inside.
If you pay with cash, you pay when leaving the bus. Remember to take a numbered ticket when boarding so the driver knows where you started your journey.
The travel time is similar to the JR train, but the bus is cheaper and the scenery along the way is beautiful.
