Room
We booked a room with two single beds.

It was clean and tidy, and the room had its own washing machine.

In addition to the bedroom, the toilet and bathroom were in separate rooms.
The kitchen was a surprise. You can buy groceries from Don Quijote and cook in the room, although there was no knife, so you will need another plan if anything needs cutting.

There was also a balcony outside the bedroom where you could dry clothes or enjoy the sun.

Check-In
We arrived shortly after noon, but nobody was at reception. A sign provided a phone number to call when the desk was unattended.
The phone system was entirely in Japanese. It took some time with Google Translate, and several calls, before we reached somebody. We then waited around ten minutes for a staff member to appear.
They spent quite a while explaining the different notices.

The rooms use electronic keypad locks instead of key cards. At check-in, you receive a slip of paper with the door code.
Honestly, unless the hotel changes the code regularly, I now know the code for the room where we stayed.

They also give you a laminated yellow card. At checkout, simply leave it in the basket at reception.
Onsen
The onsen charges per visit and is only open during set hours.
Smoking Area
Turn right after leaving the hotel entrance. The smoking area is screened by bamboo.
Lobby
There is a drinks machine and an ice machine. Paper cups are available, and drinking water also comes from the drinks machine.
The lobby has a paid photo booth, as well as dryers that cost 100 yen for ten minutes. Put your clothes inside, close the door and insert the money. Each additional 100 yen automatically adds another ten minutes.
There is also a toilet. The men’s room has one urinal and one cubicle.
View
There is a yakiniku restaurant on the 11th floor. Even if you are not dining there, you can still take a look at the view.

You can see a beach across the road. At night, there was a lot of deadwood and driftwood, so it did not look particularly suitable for swimming.
There is a public toilet nearby. I was bitten by mosquitoes on the beach, although the park next to it was fine.
Car Park
There is a paid car park outside.

Overall Stay
The apartment had a practical, clearly divided layout and was clean and tidy.
The walk to Beppu Station was a little long, but the hotel was only around five minutes from the city centre. Don Quijote, 7-Eleven and other useful shops were nearby.
Check-in was inconvenient, but the surroundings and location were excellent. The Wi-Fi was also good.
In addition to Japanese staff, there were international staff members who were easier to communicate with in English.
Check-Out
Checkout is at 10:00 a.m.
